At Yarrabah School we place significant emphasis on supporting students' Mental Health and Wellbeing. This is achieved by always meeting the student where they are at, not where they 'should be' and work up from there. We work from out of the classrooms but also from our dedicated wellbeing centre, at the heart of the school called Carinya Wellbeing Centre.

This service provides students, staff and families a vast array of expertly led supports. All of our team are university-qualified practitioners with expertise in the area of mental health, trauma-informed practices, student counselling, complex behaviour support, reflective practice and NDIS navigation.
Yarrabah service providers are available all week. We allocate staff across all areas of the school. The team meet weekly and consists of:
Wellbeing Leader - Samantha Harris, Lead Social Worker (Secondary MHP) 5 days
Student Wellbeing - Bethany Prunty, Social Worker, 4 days
Behaviour Support Practitioner - Ashleigh Corbett, Board Certified ABA Therapist, 3 days
NDIS Navigator and Future Pathways - Lisa Wilson, Expert Teacher, 3 days
